Welcome, bien venidos, to stranger and friends alike.These writings are rooted in the incredible good fortune I’ve had to be able to travel both professionally and more often than not, on my own time (and dime), and see many different places and peoples in my life.That doesn’t give me or anyone else any special insight of course, there’s plenty of individuals who’ve traveled all over the world and learned very little. As George Harrison once sang, invoking a Hindu theme, “The farther one travels…the less one knows”. But I would like to think that wherever I’ve gone, I’ve gone there with my eyes and heart open, so in that spirit I hope you enjoy what little I have shared with you here.
Y yo me iré. Y se quedarán los pájaros cantando;
y se quedará mi huerto con su verde árbol,
y con su pozo blanco.
Todas las tardes el cielo será azul y plácido;
y tocarán, como esta tarde están tocando,
las campanas del campanario.
Se morirán aquellos que me amaron;
y el pueblo se hará nuevo cada año;
y en el rincon de aquel mi huerto florido y encalado,
mi espiritu errará, nostalgico.
And I will leave. But the birds will stay, singing:
and my garden will stay, with its green tree,
with its water well.
Many afternoons the skies will be blue and placid,
and the bells in the belfry will chime,
as they are chiming this very afternoon.
The people who have loved me will pass away,
and the town will burst anew every year.
But my spirit will always wander nostalgic
in the same recondite corner of my flowery garden.

About me, a lucky American bloke: I put the daily bread on the table and keep a roof over my head by working as a freelance film & television Location Manager and Scout, and as a SAG actor and model, based in the small city of Charlottesville, Virginia, US of A. Of Bolivian descent on my father’s side and thence going back to Galicia where my ancestors were possibly “conversos” (“The Inquisition! Don’t be late…”), and of Welsh-English bare-ass Celtic heritage on me darling Mum’s side. Gracias por venir amigos (Thanks for coming friends!)
